Promise Background
Violence against women in Afghanistan is one of the systematic and widespread obstacles facing women in Afghanistan. Educating women on their rights and documenting abuses to persecute perpetrators are viewed as key components to mitigating violence against women. During his pre-election Campaign, President Ghani signed the six-point petition from the Afghan Women's Network (AWN) which included the commitment to create health centers to educate, document and counter violence against women.
